Creating an inviting playroom that is a retreat for your kids.
A place where kids want to relax, have fun and feel comfortable in their own space.
Korben is a very energetic 7-year-old, always eager to work on the next science experiment.
Clara is a vibrant 4-year-old who loves her free play time by dressing up and play kitchen.
When we started this project our design inspiration was inspired by our two kiddos. We wanted to create a space they would love and inspire their imaginations and free play.
Color wise while Korben loves the blue tones, Clara is more for the Bold colors. We didn’t stay with a certain style, but we let our two little helpers in on the design selections for their space right down to the sofa and rug.
Our Main sources for the project were:
Target– Pillows, Fabric Bins, and Floor Lamp
Of course Mom’s favorite pieces include the kid’s artwork. We purchase a large-scale canvas both kids and picked a paint scheme and they made their own masterpieces.
With a passion for woodworking I created a kids scaled mini farm table. A great place for kinetic sand, popcorn holder for movie watching. A place to color and play board games together.
Start with what you can. Look for great staple pieces and furniture that can handle the wear and tear of kids. Add in storage solutions to finish out the space. Though my Best advice is let your littles help along the way.
